Ross William Maracle Sr. passed away early Wednesday morning on August 22, 2012 due to injuries sustained in a car accident, and joyously returned to the Lord, at the young age of 66. Today we lost a great leader, warrior, motivator, organizer, but most importantly, a wonderfully loving and devoted husband, a caring, compassionate and loving father, an involved and thoughtful uncle, and a grandfather who both adored, and was adored in return by his 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and a treasured friend to many.  He was a dear son to Andrew and Lillian Maracle.  Sorrowfully missed by his wife, Linda Maracle and the families of their children, Rachel and Bryan Volkmann, Rebecca and Eric Aschmann and Ross and Shayna Maracle II.  He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Brant Maracle, Clifford and Yolanda Maracle, Thomas and Alison Maracle, Jonathan and Linda Maracle and David and Kimberly Maracle.  Ross had a zest for life and energy for numerous projects, always striving for excellence.  Ross was Founder and President of National Native Bible College for just under 2 decades.  He reached out to people from coast to coast with his Spirit Alive TV Broadcast which is still broadcasting from Thunder Bay, Ontario, under the new direction of Reverend Rome Fisher.  He was also dedicated to our young people with a drive to “discovering new trails” by acting as Founder and Director of Ohahahse Camp for Youth.  In the role of organizer and promoter, when hearing the news of the emergency situation in Attawapiskat, through his contacts, a plan to deliver a Compassionate Outreach Program was initiated, and an airlift was organized to immediately supply items needed to help the community.  In his downtime, Ross’s main focus was seeking ways to make Linda fall in love with him over and over through 45 years of marriage and always sought ways to bring family and friends together.  A special thank you to everyone supporting our family through this difficult time.  Family and Friends will be received at McGlade Funeral Home, on Sunday, August 26, 2012 between the hours of 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 5:00pm – 9:00pm.  Funeral Services to be held on Monday, August 27th at Evangel Temple, 320 Bridge Street West, Napanee, Ontario at1:00 p.m (Please note that the Funeral may be a lengthy service).  Interment to take place in Native New Life Cemetery, Tyendinaga Territory.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Spirit Alive Television Ministry or the Northern Native Community Fund.

We have always counted Ross as a sincere and dear friend and truly a man of God. We cherish our memories of the times we spent together, both at our place in Brighton or your place in Deseronto ..and even in NY when God multiplied the furnace oil. We remember your times of ministry with us in Brighto ..both the Childrens Pow Wow meetings and the annointed 'special' adult meetings. We pray God's blessing of comfort, wisdom, and strength for each of you in the days ahead. We do also rejoice with you in the true 'hope' we have of being reunited together with Ross in Christ one day.

Our deepest condolences and prayers. It was with great sadness that I found out about the accident tonight. I will always remember the summer I went down to the Salmon River for a swim and heard someone singing a beautiful Christian hymn in a very loud voice. As I rounded the corner in the conservation area there was Ross singing at the top of his lungs while a big group of young people frolicked in the water. If I remember correctly these were all young people from the inner city ofToronto whom Ross had brought down to his camp. I remember spending the rest of the day with Ross working on his property. It was a wonderful day. He was a great man whom I very much admired and I am deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic passing. May God's immense comfort be yours Linda. We are praying for you.

Sharon and I and the ministry team here of Intercede International are grieving with you at this time of profound loss and sorrow. May our Heavenly Father help bring His peace and comfort to you, as only He can. Ross was such an inspiration to us and his legacy of the Word of God and the compassion of Christ will live on in all our hearts and one day to be reunited with him eternally. The Lord Jesus used Ross to win many souls to His eternal kingdom, which has no end, may you be comforted in the knowledge that Jesus sees and knows all things and yet a little while we shall all be where Ross is right now, enjoying the peace and joy of heaven awaiting for us. We have a DVD of Ross preaching at the Gateway Conference in April, it was a most moving and profound message. We will be sending it to you, a little later on. Sincerely yours in Christ, James and Sharon Eagles & Intercede International. Fort Erie, Ontario

So sad to hear about Ross. He was a true Warrior of the Lord. I am thankful that the Lord used him in our calling to ministry. I still remember standing in his gift shop and he pointed at me from across the room and said "brother the Lord is calling you to our people".
I am thankful to the Lord for Ross being a part of my life. He had such a heart for Jesus and for our people. I am so thankful that I was able to serve with him at camp.
There will be a day that we will meet again.
Thank you Lord for using this mighty warrior and for the people he impacted.

My sincere condolences to the Maracle family. I had the honour of making the acquaintance of Bro. Maracle on Parliament Hill, and also being blessed and uplifted by his teaching on the "Spirit Alive" programme. Bro. Maracle packed more into 66 years than many people would given twice as long. His many good works have gone ahead of him, where he is being greatly welcomed now.

Dear Linda & Family,
I am a former member of Faith Temple. Reverend Maracle was a welcomed guest of the late Reverend Winston Nunes and the Faith Temple family. Reverend Nunes taught us that no matter what way it comes, our death is an appointment by God. My heart mourns with you over the loss of such a precious man of God and family man. I just know Reverend Maracle heard these words from Our Father, "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord." May God continue to comfort you and give you and your family strength in the days ahead.

My condolences go out to the entire Maracle family. Ross was the first friend I remember from Hogansburg, NY. We were like Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, we had a lot of great adventures. One of the ones I remember clearly is the time we decided to build a camp in the woods. We packed tools and our lunch and set off for the woods. We spent two weeks building a fantastic campsite with a fire pit and some sort of a leanto.
One day we went up and found our camp totally destroyed, apparently some kids had found it. Anyway, we decided to go deeper into the woods and build a new campsite. And that''s what we did, we spent all day working on it. The next time we went up to work on it...it was hidden so well we never did find it again!
Ross was a good friend and will be missed. Some of us only wish we could have touched as many lives as Ross did. RIP my friend. Tony Wigger, VT

I just heard the news as I live in BC. Many years ago when Ross was on t.v. with Spirit Alive, I wrote him and shared that I was in the midst of treatment for cancer. He wrote back and I have that letter still. I am cancer free for many years now. I donated what I could to Spirit Alive and he has always had
a place in my heart.

I am so sorry for the loss and suffering of his wife Linda and family. They are in my prayers. Ross is in good hands but it is those left behind that grieve. He truly made a difference while temporarlily residing on this earth.

Dear Maracle family: The immediate Maracle family will remember me well. I first visited them when they were missionaries to the Mohawk people and the youngest son had just been born a baby in the crib. We became instant friends of the family and Andrew took me and my wife in young and just out of Bible Institute. Ross was very young but about 8 years later I visited brother Maracle when I was pastor of a sizable church in Indiana and asked to bring Ross back with for the Summer school vacation. I saw in this boy a tremendous potential! He could ask more questions than ten wise men could answer! That inquisitiveness was because he was so motivated to know and learn. I brought him back to Indiana and when the end of Summer vacation came I had answered thousands of questions from this boy. I did everything I could to instill biblical values I knew his mother and father were teaching him. I returned later to visit his Bible College after he had become a known name for representing Indian affairs in Canada by the government. I was so proud of him! I want to say all of this to drop this bottom line for his family and friends that tells a lot about this man. Several years after I made the last visit I received a personal letter from Ross thanking me for the childhood visit when he was a small boy and how much he learned and how much that visit had meant to him through the years. I replied to Ross but I'm sure I fell short of expressing how his letter affected my heart. I send my prayers and encourage every one of them to be very sure you have surrendered everything to the Lordship of Jesus over your life. To be in contact with me please visit my website at www.actsion.com. Hello to all the boys and I still cherish the stone eagle given to me from the gift shop. It reminds me of all the precious memories I have of the Maracle family through those years every time I see it. I saw a cartoon exposing the the injustice of treatment given to Indian treaties and googled his name and found the shocking news of his decease in 2012 and send the belated condolence to all of you who still feel the loss. But all redeemed will all be together and we will never say goodbye again!
